Trailwork Sun March 7th at Rocky Ridge 1:30PM

Postby diggingtrail » Wed Mar 03, 2010 10:54 pm

Here's to the sun! Let's hope it gets warm and sunny. As of now there is still snow on the trails at RR. Hopefully by Sunday most of that snow will be melted off of the area of Rusty Chair so we can begin work again. Check back here Saturday afternoon to see if we are a go for RR Sunday afternoon as I will check conditions on Saturday.

If we are a go, meet in the front parking lot. Bring water, sturdy boots, and a desire to help build one of the best trails in the area. We will as always supply tools, and energy bars. There will be a swag giveaway to two or three lucky volunteers as well.

If we are a no go for RR, there is a back-up plan for some maintenance at The Lakes.

Hope to see you Sunday.

Yeah it does! There was still 3-6 inches of snow on most of Rusty Chair. Some portions of trail 4 still had 18-24 inches :o Trail 8 on the north side had a consistent 4+ inches. It'll be awhile until the whole park is rideable, but Rusty Chair should be clear by midweek, setting us up good for working the next two weekends.

Depends how heavy the rain is. Mist again and we can dig the new trail. Heavier and probably not the best idea to build new trail. However it will be a good time to asses and fix other water issues at RR. Those area would be the rock garden at the bottom of trail 3, at the bridge on the short section of 8, and some others.
