As the amount of daylight we get per day dwindles, we have officially switched to weekly NIGHT rides. A good 14 or so of us enjoyed the first one last night. Good weather and grippy trails.
Reminder that YAMBA has special permission and insurance to ride the parks at night. It is illegal otherwise. We share or schedule with the Parks and Rangers who will cite you for being there after dark without us.
Night rides step it up a bit. Riding these trails is hard enough and the lack of light only creates challenges. We recommend both a helmet light to illuminate where you are looking and a bar light to illuminate where you are going, which are frequently not the same. Any of the local bike shops would be eager to help equip you.
