ROCKY RIDGE
This ride will be held at Rocky Ridge County Park. The ride starts at 6pm and we finish at 8pm.
Meet in the first paved lot on the left as you enter the park.
We typically will break into all 3 groups with a leader and sweeper for each group. Sometimes, there may be a women’s only group depending on leader availability and attendees.
BEGINNER:
Our Beginner Group is suitable for those will lesser fitness and who want to improve their skills and meet other people that mountain bike. A proper bike, helmet, and at least basic biking experience are necessary. It is not possible to mountain bike at the Lakes without climbing hills or at Rocky Ridge without riding over rocky trails while also climbing hills We will help you improve your mountain biking skills and fitness level and show you the trails. Just please understand that you will be riding up and down hills, through rock gardens, and over tree roots. We do NOT ride on the gravel paths. The riders will re-group at intersections and as necessary to keep the group together. This is considered a ‘no-drop” ride. We will ride at the pace of the slowest rider.
CASUAL:
The Casual Group is meant for those familiar with mountain biking, who have some fitness level, and have some experience mountain biking. The riders will re-group at intersections and as necessary to keep the group together but not as frequently as the Beginner Group. This is considered a ‘no-drop” ride but if you cannot keep up with the pace of the group, please ride with the slower Beginner Group
INTERMEDIATE:
The Intermediate Group is meant for fit, experienced riders. These rides have very limited stops and the fastest pace of our groups. The riders will re-group at intersections and as necessary to keep the group together. This is considered a ‘no-drop” ride but you should be able to keep up with the group pace. If you cannot keep up with the pace of the group, please ride with the Casual Group
If you are unsure of your ability, that is ok. Join us for a ride and we can help you find the right group. We understand it can be intimidating to join a group ride but there is no better way to make new biking friends while quickly improving fitness and skill level. It will definitely be worth your time!
